Fresh from the dye pot

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted but I’ve been working on building stock for an upcoming craft show in DeWitt, MI on November 12th.  I’ve been experimenting with some new color ways and am having to restrain myself from knitting with my dyed yarn!  I keep thinking, “Oh, that dip-dyed Honey would make wonderful socks or a cowl.”

I’ve also been working on my photography skills and have learned about shooting my photos in RAW mode and then I can more easily adjust the white balance so that the photo is a better representation of the color.  Before I learned that, I’d literally spent an hour one day photographing a few skeins of yarn and trying a multitude of camera settings.  Now, it’s much easier.

Splash of Color Yarns available at Etsy

Greetings to the last part summer!  I can’t believe this summer has gone by so fast.  I spent four days at the STITCHES Midwest conference in Schaumburg, IL and learned more about antique knitting patterns and history, double knitting, as well as knitting a beaded bracelet.

I wanted share that I’ve opened up my shop at Etsy!  You can find it here.  I’m still in the process of adding items to the store, which takes some time because I want to make sure my photographs properly represent the yarn.  I will also be listing two yarns this coming week after I take final photographs but here are some teasers.
